Making marks in the dough

Jacob, Luke, Ellie and Emily used some lolly pop sticks and straws to poke the play dough they were playing with on Tuesday. 'Roll it roll it' Emily commented before smiling when she'd pressed the rolling pin down on her dough to make some circle shapes. 'Look' Jacob commented when he was patting the dough with his hands. Ellie was proud when she'd made marks in the dough by using her fingers. She held her arms up and smiled proudly. Luke enjoyed collecting the lolly pop sticks and straws together. We had lots of fun!

Children In Need

On Friday some children dressed up in Superhero outfits or outfits with Pudsey Bear on to show their support for Children In Need. We raised some money and the children enjoyed colouring in pictures of Pusdey Bear too.

Textured paper and sequin tray

Some children in the 0-2 room have enjoyed exploring the textured paper and sequin tray this week. We made noises such as 'Whoosh', 'Bang' and 'Fizz', as the colours we saw looked like those we might see when watching fireworks on Bonfire Night!

Martin collected the pieces of paper and pushed them into a blue pot.

Alicia crouched down to the tray to select several pieces of the paper before standing up and looking at them closely.

Missy saw Martin had started filling up a cup with paper, so she did the same using a green cup.

Alicia patted her hand on the paper to make it move!

Then Martin concentrated really hard to make a great tower using the 5 cups. Well done Martin!

This week in the 0-2 room

We have taken a big interest in reading lots of different stories lately. Some popular choices of books have included Thomas The Tank Engine, The 3 Little Pigs, Friendly Farm Peek-A-Boo and Our First Word Picture Book where we have been naming the animals, making their sounds and looking at the vehicle pictures such as 'aeroplanes', 'cars', 'trains', 'police cars' and 'motorbikes'.

Bailey has learnt to crawl recently and has been getting very quick when exploring the environment! Clever girl Bailey!
